Corbin is best known for his sporting art landscapes. He executes a carefully crafted landscape and inserts a figure into it—the goal being to capture some of the tension and dynamics of the experience. He studied painting and sculpture at Pomfret School (Pomfert, CT), Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT), and the California College of Arts and Crafts (Oakland, CA). His greatest influences have been A.B. Frost, Ogden Pleissner and Winslow Homer. An avid sportsman since childhood, Corbin’s paintings reflect his knowledge and love of the outdoors. He paints in the loft of a barn on his property in Millbrook, New York. Corbin exhibits widely and has won numerous honors. He is a member of the Society of Animal Artists.
